A Visit to the Sisters

My plan has failed. While Banquo is gone, Fleance still remains. I do not know where he resides, but knowing that he is alive will torture me for the rest of my days. Will he be the reason that my reign ends? The worm fled and in time venom will breed, though he has no teeth for the present. I still have time until he grows up and he kills me, but I will spend my days in worry. Oh, how I wish that the murderers were successful.

I visited the weird sisters again. I needed to know more information about my destiny and what I should be looking out for. They conjured up a spell and three apparitions appeared before me.

The first one was a head with armor. It said, "Beware Macduff. Beware the Thane of Fife." The last I heard, Macduff fled to England. He is seeking help from Malcolm, the previous king's son. He denied an invite to my banquet and I had my suspicions about him, but now I have to get rid of him, too.

The second one was a blood-covered child. It told me, "Nobody born of a woman shall harm Macbeth." This was a comforting prophecy because everyone is born of a woman. There is no way that I will be harmed.

The third one was a child who donned a crown and held a tree. It said, "Macbeth shall never be vanquished until the Great Birnam Wood advances against him to the high hill at Dunsinane." This is about trees! Trees cannot move on its own accord. I will definitely not be vanquished.

This visit calmed my mind and now I am confident that I will continue my reign.

    1. My path has been so bloody that stopping now and going back would be no easier than moving forward. My throne shall not be given to a man that is not of my own lineage.
