My Greatest Threat

Banquo has been by my side on the battlefield, but I'm afraid that he has become a threat to my throne. I'm the king now, but the three weird women told Banquo that his children would be kings. Does that mean that my own children will not take my place? I did not lose my sanity and go against all my morals just to have someone else's children be king. He needs to be taken care of. There are two murderers at my disposal and are willing to do my bidding. I can't get rid of him myself because I need the loyalty of our mutual friends. I told these murderers to wait for him until he makes his way to my castle for the banquet. I ordered them to get rid of his child, Fleance, as well. With the both of them gone, there will be no one left of Banquo's lineage to be king.

At tonight's banquet, my mind will be put at ease because I will secure my reign. There's nothing that will stand in my way of being the ruler of Scotland for the rest of my life.

The Battle's Aftermath

The battle against the Norwegians and the traitor, the Thane of Cawdor, was bloody and hectic. In the end, Scotland prevailed. We lost many lives, but thankfully, Banquo and I survived. On our way back from the battlefield, we were confronted by three peculiar looking women. At least, I think they were women. As soon as we approached them, they announced, "All hail, Macbeth! Hail to you, Thane of Glamis! All hail, Macbeth! Hail to you, Thane of Cawdor! All hail, Macbeth! You'll be king one day!" I held only one of these titles: the Thane of Glamis. Cawdor belonged to the betrayer of Scotland and the crown belonged to King Duncan. I am loyal to the throne and I fought this battle to protect him and my country. How could I be king? Banquo asked the witches to tell his own destiny. They said that he would be the father to kings. I could not wrap my mind around the prophecy told to me. Who were these sisters and how could they tell me what the future will hold?

A Visit to the Sisters

My plan has failed. While Banquo is gone, Fleance still remains. I do not know where he resides, but knowing that he is alive will torture me for the rest of my days. Will he be the reason that my reign ends? The worm fled and in time venom will breed, though he has no teeth for the present. I still have time until he grows up and he kills me, but I will spend my days in worry. Oh, how I wish that the murderers were successful. I visited the weird sisters again. I needed to know more information about my destiny and what I should be looking out for.
